As we observe our annual milestone of the March 4, 1870 founding of the Moore Farm, we celebrate being the oldest known continuously operating African American owned farm in the state of Tennessee for 156 years.

In honor of this auspicious day, we highlight our timeline of African American Agriculture in Tennessee. Despite the obstacles we choose to grow our families and farms.

We hope this timeline will spur conversation, connection, and instill pride in our shared agrarian roots. Download the pdf here -
